The main idea behind the exhibition is to present a wider audience with a cross-section of astonishing abstract works (shown together in this selection for the first time). The event is therefore a unique opportunity to explore both their forms and their profound content. Abstract art is characterised by its exploration of a profusion of colours, a variety of shapes and patches, lines and structures, in order to reveal what is internal and invisible to the naked eye. It does not depict raw reality itself (as realism does), but rather the way it appears to the artist. What is more, each viewer sees the finished work of art through their own prism—so experiencing abstraction is always an opportunity to explore reality as it exists within us. The exhibition can be admired until 9 June; we warmly invite you to visit! Artists: Anna Carpenter, Anna Forycka-Putiatycka, Maciej Wilski & Faustyn Chełmecki, Edyta Dzierż, Mariusz Woszczyński, Jan Kubicki
The exhibition opening will be accompanied by a performance by the band NIEŁAD. NIEŁAD is an instrumental and vocal ensemble. We work across genres on the borders of rock, jazz, funk, soul and world music. We met at jam sessions in Warsaw. Our love of music brought us together. Each of us comes from a different musical world, so we met in the realm of progressive rock—with an appetite for jazz and funk. We play our own compositions as well as jazz standards. In both cases, improvisation is an important element. The full picture of our music takes shape live, before the eyes and ears of our listeners. Band members: Klara Wysocka – vocals; Jakub Kubicki – violin; Szymon Nowak – keyboards; Karol Bokszczanin – guitar; Jan Szczypior – bass; Przemysław Zieliński – drums
