BLUES TIME is a continuation of the tradition of the band BLUES 66, founded years ago by Tomek Bielecki. It was formed in 2010. One day, a group of friends and regulars at the legendary ‘Fregata’ bar in Saska Kępa brought along their instruments and started playing there. The band has a distinct blues character, but also embraces boogie, hill country and country ballads, often performing in the so-called open jam format. As a result, many musician friends and colleagues who always turn up at the concerts often join in for spontaneous, communal playing. Improvisation is one of the band’s main, fundamental elements and is part of every performance. Our guiding principle is to enjoy playing together sincerely and bringing blues to people, without any particular pretensions to philharmonic precision, let alone to topping the charts...
In this spirit, the group has played dozens, if not hundreds, of concerts, mainly in clubs and cultural centres in Warsaw, but also in Otwock, Józefów, Falenica, Radość, Łomianki, Legionowo, Zegrze, Garwolin, Ostróda, Olsztyn, Świebodzin and elsewhere. The group has long played as a close-knit ensemble:
