New Media Art – the Digital Age

With the development of technology, art based on the following emerged:

  • video,

  • multimedia installations,

  • interaction,

  • virtual and augmented reality,

  • artificial intelligence.

An important artist is Bill Viola, a master of video art, as well as Nam June Paik, who as early as the 1960s predicted the era of global television and the internet.

In Poland, a pioneer of new media is Natalia LL, author of the “Consumer Art” series, as well as Katarzyna Kozyra, known for the installation “Animal Pyramid.” Both artists are united by their boldness in addressing themes of the body, gender, and social stereotypes
