Mrs. Maria Owczarczyk is a sculptor of the older generation. She graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw, receiving her diploma in 1958 in the studio of Franciszek Strynkiewicz. Maria Owczarczyk’s works are inspired above all by nature and are distinguished by an individual, minimalist style, with soft transitions between sculptural forms.
The artist’s works are held in private collections and in museums: the Naroden Muzej Prilep in Macedonia, the Janus Pannonius Museum Prilep in Hungary, the Museum of Sculpture in Białystok, the Museum of Sport in Warsaw, and the Open-Air Sculpture Gallery in Orońsko.
The exhibition will feature sculptures from various periods of the artist’s career, created in materials such as bronze, fine wood, sandstone, and ceramics. Meeting Maria is an encounter with the sculpture of past decades.
The K&K Art Gallery project is funded by grants received from NIW-CRSO as part of the Civil Society Organisations Development Programme for 2018–2030.
