“THE FEELING” / Exhibition of portraits and photography

As part of the “Generational Families of Artists” series, this exhibition will present sculpted portraits and photography by mother and daughter Zofia Kubicka and Zofia Helena Kubicka. Sculptor Zofia Kubicka creates figurative sculptures that draw on the visual qualities of form and gesture. She seeks out subtle energies frozen within the solid form of a sculpture. Her sculpted portraits are full of tenderness and warmth. Through graphic imagery, Zofia Helena Kubicka captures this energy in her personal photographs. Her photographic portraits reveal a precisely rendered tenderness. Though they use different means of expression, both women view “The Feeling” as a kind of creative intimacy. Different women, different ages, different perceptions of the world.
