The exhibition refers to the tangles and complexities of landscapes. As if from a bird’s-eye view, with a keen falcon’s eye, we will peer into paintings, textiles and sculptures that are the result of the artists’ free creativity.

Different artistic personalities and temperaments have come together in this group exhibition.

In Magdalena Hajnosz’s abstract paintings, we will discover the rhythm of trees, while folds and diagonal cuts of colour create a landscape. Magdalena Hylak illustrates her paintings with whimsical, humorous tales of birds and the city. Zofia Kubicka, though a sculptor, stitches landscapes. Her materials blur the boundary between patchwork and painting, and serve as illustrations for the artist’s poetic notes.
Janusz Owsiany creates birds from trees. His sculptures give the impression of menacing, crouching giants. Stefan Kłosiewicz photographs birds. These are not merely formal studies, however. His passion as an ornithologist brings us closer to the secrets of bird nature.
Jan Kubicki welds nature together from fragments of urban remnants and symbols. He creates sculptures full of dynamism and linear expression.

Artists

Magdalena Hylak

She studied printmaking at the European Academy of Arts in Warsaw.
She currently focuses mainly on oil painting on canvas.
She has taken part in international plein-air workshops, group and solo exhibitions, as well as charitable artistic projects.

Magdalena Hajnosz

Studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw, 1975–80; graduated in 1980;
She works in painting and drawing.
Profession: visual artist and computer graphic designer.

Zofia Kubicka

A graduate of the Sculpture Department at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw, where she studied in Professor Jan Kucz’s studio. For her, art is a study of humanity in the multiplied mirror of spatial images.

Stefan Kłosiewicz

Stefan Kłosiewicz is a doctor of pharmacology by training and a photographer by passion. Driven by his passion, he photographs not only animals but also plant life, rich in form and content. He is the author of the blog Life in the City, where we can find out what will be gone in a few years.

Janusz Owsiany

Artist, sculptor. Lives and works in Chociemyśl. He is the originator and organiser of the National and International Chociemyśl Creative Meetings, held annually since 1991. He works in stone, wood and metal sculpture.

Jan Mitaś Kubicki

1994: Graduated from the Sculpture Department of the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw, in Professor Grzegorz Kowalski’s studio
The creator of many artistic actions focused on a contemporary vision of humanity. The artist develops sculptural and artistic projects in a variety of public spaces.
