MARIUSZ WOSZCZYŃSKI

He was born in 1965 in Warsaw. He graduated from the State High School of Fine Arts in Warsaw. From 1985 to 1990 he studied at the Faculty of Painting of the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw. He received his diploma with honors in the studio of Prof. Rajmund Ziemski, with an annex on printmaking in the studio of doc. Rafał Strent. In 1990-1994, he was an assistant in the painting studio of Prof. Teresa Pągowska and in three drawing studios, a painting studio, and a sculpture studio at the Faculty of Graphic Arts. Since 1996, he has worked at the Faculty of Sculpture in the drawing studios of Prof. Zofia Glazer and Prof. Jacek Sienicki. Since 2005, he has been running a drawing and painting studio. Professor of plastic arts (2015). From 2013-2015, he led the studio of painting and drawing at the Faculty of Arts at the Academy of Special Education in Warsaw.
He has participated in more than 100 group and issue exhibitions at home and abroad (Luxembourg, Germany, USA, Belgium, Czech Republic, Hungary, Denmark, Switzerland, Ireland, France, Italy, Finland, Lithuania, UK, and Slovakia). He had more than 40 solo exhibitions in Poland (among others: Galeria Dziekanka, Galeria Promocyjna, Nowicki Gallery, Galeria Krytyków Pokaz, Galeria Kordegarda, Galeria Lufcik DAP in Warsaw, Museum of the Borderlands in Lubaczów, Kasztel in Szymbark, Museum of the Karwacjan Manor in Gorlice, Galeria Strug in Zakopane, Small Gallery in Nowy Sącz) and in Chile, France, and Germany. He completed his studies abroad at the Ecole d'Art et Architecture in Marseille (1992-1993, French government scholarship), at the Kunstakademie in Düsseldorf (1994-1996, Tempus Foundation and DAAD scholarship), and at the Higher School of Fine Arts la Cambre and the RHoK Free School in Brussels (1998, Belgian government internship). Awards: Grand Concours Internationale de Peinture, Musee 2000, Luxembourg (1990), first prize in the "Warsaw Graphic of the Month" competition (November 1994), honorable mention in XXXIII
National Painting Competition "Bielska Jesień", Bielsko-Biała (1997), 1st prize in the ZPAP drawing competition, Warsaw (1997), award of the quarterly Exit, Warsaw (2006). In 2004, he received the medal for the 100th anniversary of the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw, and the Rector's award in 2006.
