EDWARD ŁAGOWSKI

Edward Łagowski (b. 1943) Graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw, where he studied at the Department of Sculpture from 1964 to 1970. He works in sculpture and medal making and also does drawing and painting. He has held numerous exhibitions and competitions and has received many significant awards and prizes. His works are in the collections of more than twenty museums and in private collections at home and abroad. At the beginning of his artistic path, Lagowski made sports one of the themes of his work. Noted and repeatedly awarded at competitions of such magnitude as the Spanish Biennale "Sport in Fine Arts" and the National Olympic Art Competitions, he became years later a laureate of the Olympic Laurels (1988, 1994), the prestigious award of the Polish Olympic Committee.
