JERZY FOBER

He creates figurative sculptures in wood. His sculptures are in the collections of The National Museum in Cracow, the Polish Sculpture Center in Orońsko, the District Museum in Bielsko-Biała, the Museum of Contemporary Sacred Art in Kielce, the Contemporary Art Collection of the City of Lucerne (Switzerland), the Catholic University of Lublin in Lublin, the City of Wroclaw - Brick Bastion, the Collection of the "POGRANICZE" Foundation in Sejny, private collections in Poland, Canada, Germany, Great Britain, and Italy. He lives and creates in Cieszyn. A graduate of the Antoni Kenar State High School of Fine Arts in Zakopane. In 1984 he graduated from the Department of Sculpture at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw, in the studio of Professor Stanislaw Kulon, He received an honorable mention for his diploma work "Placing in the grave". In 1982, while still a student, together with Andrzej Szarek and Czesław Podleśny, he founded the art group …kim jesteś. W wystawach grupy uczestniczył do 1990 roku. Od 1986 roku naucza na ASP. W roku 2000 otrzymał tytuł Profesora Sztuk Plastycznych. Wielokrotny stypendysta Ministerstwa Kultury I Sztuki w latach: 1985, 1987, 1991, 1999 i 2004 r.
