ANDRZEJ ŁOPIŃSKI

Andrzej Lopinski. He was born in 1960 in Warsaw. From 1979 to 1984 he studied sculpture at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw in the works of. Prof. Stanislaw Kulon. From 1986 to 1991 he worked as an assistant to Prof. Adam Myjak in the sculpture studio at the Faculty of Painting. From 1991 to 2009, he co-headed the ceramics studio at the Warsaw Academy of Fine Arts and since January 2010. He works in the studio of Bronze Sculpture at the Faculty of Sculpture. In 1995, as a member of the Polish Archaeological Mission in Egypt, he worked on the reconstruction of sculptures in the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut in Luxor. In 1996, he was awarded an Artist in Residence International scholarship in Atlanta. He creates sculptures in stone, bronze, ceramics, installations and spatial objects using light, performance. An important part of his work are realizations with sacred themes. He lives and works in the buffer zone of the Kampinos Forest where in 2008 he organized and led an open-air workshop for students of the Department of Sculpture.
