JANUSZ OWSIANY
The characters welded in steel and metal are synthetic, pictorial. Often depicted in pairs, larger or smaller. They are pilgrims for whom life is the way. Later, Janusz Owsiany places his pilgrims in boats. For the author, pilgrims in boats cross the mystical river Styx, crossing the border between the real and the metaphysical, between the past and the future, crossing more barriers in life
Janusz Owsiany is a man of institution. A native of the Lower Silesia province, the sculptor is the creator of the Sculpture Park in Chociemyśli, international sculpture plein-airs and many monumental sculpture realizations in the country ( Glogow, Radzyn, Chobienia, Slava,) and abroad ( Razdorf, Eisenhitenstaat, Halmshtaat, Skumeslovstrand, Laholm, Ostrava) .
He spreads his sculptural cycles over time. One of the most important cycles the artist has created over the years was the Pilgrims series. Over the years, forms inspired by nature are also created. Initially, his fascination with nature manifests itself in sculptural attempts to imitate forms taken from nature. This is a period of discovering the richness of materials and learning about their structures. For Janusz Owsiany, black oak and stone ( granite or sandstone), excavated from the nearby wetlands, become an inseparable creative material. The author matures with the material, discovers metal, initially new , shiny, with time corroded and twisted. As he grows older, he collects and contemplates large fragments of sheet metal, bent parts of old farm machinery, preparing new sculptural incarnations for them.

For the past two years, sculptures open to the universe have been created in Janusz Owsiany's studio. In his creative journey, the artist reaches out to experience the universe. It is a code which, through successive sculptures, the artist wants to read by giving his works the hallmarks of artifacts.
