PAWEŁ ŁĘSKI

Pawel Leski (born 05.06.1954). Studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna (studio of Prof. Ferdinand Welz), later at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw, graduated in 1980. In 1981 he taught sculpture at Kabul University, was an employee of the Asia-Pacific Museum, headed the art studio at the Royal Castle in Warsaw. In 1990, he received a scientific scholarship in France. He was awarded the Gold Medal, Second Prize and the Papal Prize in the "Biennale Internazionale del Bronzetto Dantesco" competitions in Ravenna, Italy, and received a special mention in the International Medal Competition in Ein Vered, Israel. In 2014, he received an award from the American Numismatic Society "J. Stanford Saltus Award". He actively participates in many Polish and foreign exhibitions. His work is characterized by dynamism and sensuality. He allows sculpture to breathe. He leaves it unsmoothed and pugnacious so that it tells its story, the work is thus closer to its nature.
